ABSTRACT
A simple, accurate, precise, economical and reproducible UV spectrophotometric method has been developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of benzil impurity in phenytoin in synthetic mixture without their prior separation. The method employs formation and solving of simultaneous equation using 221 nm and 264 nm as the two analytical wavelengths. Validation studies are statistically significant as all statistical parameters are within the acceptance range (% COV < 2.0 and SD < 2.0).
