ABSTRACT
A simple and rapid HPTLC has been developed for the quantitative analysis of marketed formulations of Shankhapushpi using scopoletin as a marker. HPTLC method was validated as per the ICH guidelines in terms of linearity, accuracy, precision and specificity. The developed and validated method was successfully applied to standardize the commercial formulations of Shankhpushpi using scopoletin. The linearity range was found to be 40 to 120 ng/spot and correlation coefficient was found to be 0.9992. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were found to be 10 and 30 ng/spot, respectively. The developed method was found to be precise, reproducible, accurate and reliable.
